Comparison of Charter and Choice schools - Essay Example The parents will get chance for choosing the best educational program for their child. These are basically the public school which offer inter - district school choice program to the public. Charter school does not receive any kind of funding for their facilities. It cannot access those funds which are available under public school construction program in New Jersey. These schools are funded by tax payer dollars. These are free like any other public school in New Jersey. Most of charter schools in New Jersey are less than five years old and smaller in size than the other public school or choice school. These schools are running by getting help from the large and small companies in the country, community group, parents of the student, teachers etc. As these are non profit entity so they can serve educational facilities to limited number of students (Rofes and Stulberg, 2012). Choice school can get the opportunity to access fund which are available under public school construction program in New Jersey. These schools also get several options for funding activities. The state government is playing a crucial role in the funding activities for such kind of schools. This scho ol can also raise fund from the parents of the students. Various scholarship funds also help in this case. A charter school can be created through a proper, accurate and successful application which needs to submit to the New Jersey DOE. The proposal for opening a new school can be given to them or convert an existing public school to a charter school also can also take place. A public school will become chartered school only if the 51 % teaching staffs who are working in that school want this conversion and 51 % guardians or parents of the student want for the same. This conversion or starting a new school can be possible as per the guidelines of the New Jersey Charter School Program Act, 1995. The

Environmental scienence Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words
Environmental scienence - Essay Example Mentioning a single striking revelation would be injustice to the many that are made in the film. The way chickens are raised, the way corn is fed to cattle, the way regulatory agencies are influenced by the very industry they are meant to regulate. But for me, the biggest revelation was how today only a few large companies control the entire food line from farm to market. The size of companies like Cargill, Monsanto etc. with their deep pockets and legal protection are able to actually decide what we eat every day. The most ââ¬Å"speciousâ⬠argument I found was what was presented by Troy Roush, the farmer who talks about how Monsanto has taken control over the seeds market. I donââ¬â¢t agree when he suggests that Monsanto took control through a brute force method and if anyone seems to challenge their hegemony, they strike at the bigger farmer and set him as an example for others. He also goes on to say that the courts and justice system seems to be tilted in favor of these large corporations (see his quote below). In my opinion, Monsanto could take over simply because of farmerââ¬â¢s greed to earn more money, followed by competition, followed by fear of being left out. It was only after this cycle of greed, competition and insecurity that farmers found themselves locked into the patented seed problem. Also, the courts would hand out verdicts according to existing laws and the laws are made by the Congress. If the farmers donââ¬â¢t win enough in courts, it is because of the existing laws and government deregulation and not just because somebody could lie or put up more money. I think that the frustration is directed to the wrong target in Roushââ¬â¢s case. He, like Barbara Kowalcyk, could take the battle to the right place: the law makers. Of course, it is easier said than done but I do feel that concerted consumer action and pressure on the lawmakers is perhaps the only way forward. Roushââ¬â¢s comments:

Philosophical Prepositions by Fichte Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
Philosophical Prepositions by Fichte - Essay Example 1963). Clearly, his prepositions are the basis of life. Theyà helpà human beings to make decisions even the scientists who only believe in facts that can be proved. One of the prepositions is the ego as an aspect of identity. It indicates theà originalityà of the human nature. Fichte argues that the ego is what comes first in decision-making. It controls the choices made by human beings in their daily life. This preposition isà significantà in that it brings out theà aspectà of individuality. Human beings need to be themselves. They need to make decisions in all categories of life rather than waiting for people to do it for them. Fichte says that this preposition dominates the whole being of a man. However, the decisions made by theà personà usually have effects in the future. Fichte asserts that there must beà consciousà when making choices (Copleston, F. 1963). This means ego is not the only factor that drives human being. In other words, there are some dang ers related to the use of ego in decision-making. Experienceà is neededà in making aà choiceà rather than emotions. If one hasà absoluteà ego, ità is arguedà that he might make decisions that he will regret in the future. There must be a balance between the ego and the conscious part of the human mind. It clearly comes out from the aboveà rationalà discussionà that, there is the interconnectedness between the ego and other things. The things that we are talking about are the second and third prepositions as proposed by Fichte (Copleston, F. 1963). If there is a need toà controlà the ego, then what shouldà controlà it? According to Fichte, non-ego is the controllingà factorà of ego. This is the second preposition. It walks in the opposite direction of the ego. One has certainly to be able toà strikeà theà balanceà in life. This applies to all categories of life. The essence of this is that the ego and the non-ego must cancel each other for th e balance to be made. It thus, an integral feature of the human mind in controlling emotions. Some people have too much ego such that seeing the obvious sense is a problem. They always want toà imposeà themselves. They want theirà identityà toà reign. In this light, they tend to make wrong decisions thatà putà them into problems. Theyà actà so weirdly in situations theyà are supposedà toà actà otherwise. Such people are notà rationaleà and therefore cannot be the best leaders. Theyà are controlledà by their emotions and are alwaysà dictatorial. This isà advantageousà toà knowà so that people do not make mistakes in voting in leaders who will be part of the problems rather than solutions. Once the ego and the non-ego cancel, the only possible thing that should exist is theà conscious. This is because; its absenceà will be renderedà useless. What he decides thereafter may as well not be of importance to his life. There must be another thing to bring about the rationality. The ââ¬ËIââ¬â¢, which is the third preposition, plays a crucial role between the ego and the non-ego. It ensures the viability of the conscious when the first two prepositions cancel. As Fichte says, it is particularly significant to the decision made. Ego isà profitable, but theà absoluteà ego could pose some problems. The non-ego, on the other hand, is alsoà valuable. However, if it dominates it renders the wholeà processà useless. That is why a mediator must be employed. This brings out the validity of the

Further more, it has a complex of developed infrastructure and an internationally competitive work force. Its geographical closeness to the emerging energy generating states in the Caspian and Central Asia are other reasons that further elevate its stature economically. Turkey is trying to align its economic policy with the commercial policy measures of European Union and creating free trade zones, signing new Free Trade accords with prospective countries. In addition to implementing Common Customs Tariff, Turkey is further putting into practice the preferential trade regime especially with third world countries i.e. Islamic and Balkans. In order to fulfill the EU measures and to look after its commercial concerns, it is executing this Free Trade accords on priority basis. Until now Turkey concluded 19 preferential trade agreements but only 9 of these preferential agreements are in force: EFTA, Israel, Bulgaria, Romania, Macedonia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina Palestine and Tunisia. This preferential trade regime was first put into practice by signing a Free Trade Agreement between Turkey and the EFTA States that was implemented in April 1992. After this Turkey reinforced its policy of preferential trade with European countries of non-EFTA members and signed FTAs with Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, Poland Hungary, Estonia, Slovenia and Czech Republic. Animal Farm Comparison Essay Essay Example for Free
Animal Farm Comparison Essay Essay Snowball is a young, smart, good speaker, who is also idealistic. Leon Trotsky is the other leader of the ââ¬Å"October Revolution. â⬠Snowball really wanted to make life better for all while Leon Trotsky was a pure communist and followed Marx. Napoleon was not a good speaker or as clever as Snowball. Joseph Stalin was not a good speaker either and was not educated like Trotsky was. Napoleon was cruel, brutal, selfish, devious and corrupt, but Joseph Stalin was the exact same as Napoleon and did not follow Marxââ¬â¢s ideas or orders. Squealer had a big mouth and would always talk a lot. He convinced the animals to believe and follow Napoleon. The Propaganda department of Leninââ¬â¢s government worked for Stalin to support his image and used any lie to convince the people to for Stalin. The dogs where used as a private army that was used as fear to force animals to work. They killed and intimidated any opponent of Napoleon. The KGB- Secret Police where not really police, but forced support for Stalin and used force to often kill entire families for disobedience. Mr. Jones is irresponsible to his animals and lets him starve kind of like Czar Nicholas II who was a poor leader at best, who was also compared to western kings. Mr. Jones was also sometimes cruel and beat this with a whip while Czar Nicholas II was cruel and was also sometimes brutal with opponents. Old Major taught Animalism while Karl Marx had invented Communism. Again Old Majorââ¬â¢s workers do the work, the rich keep the money , and the animals revolt. Karl Marxââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"workers of the world uniteâ⬠and take over the government. Animalism has no owners, no rich, but no poor. Communism is exactly the same. With Animalism workers get a better life and all animals are equal. In Communism all people are also equal. Benjamin was an Old Wise Donkey who was always suspicious of Napoleon and thought ââ¬Å"Nothing ever changes. â⬠He was right. The skeptical people of Russisa and the outside world werenââ¬â¢t really sure the Revolution would change anything and realized that a tyrant could call himself a Communist. The overall details of the revolution was designed to make life better for the animal and life ended up being far worse. It was supposed to fix the problems that existed under the Czarââ¬â¢s rule, but life was worse after the revolution than before, because Stalin had made the Czar look like a nice guy. Moses the Raven would tell the animals about SurgarCandy mountain(Heaven) and how animals would go there if they worked hard. Marx said ââ¬Å"Opiate of the peopleâ⬠was a lie and used to make people not complain and do their work instead of study religion. Mollie was vain and loved her beauty and herself. She also didnââ¬â¢t think about the animal farm either. The vain people of Russia and the world had some people who didnââ¬â¢t care about the Revolution but only thought about their own self interest. Boxer was a strong, hard working horse, and believed in the animal farm and always said ââ¬Å"Napoleon is always right. â⬠Dedicated, but tricked supporters of the revolution believed Stalin, because he was a ââ¬Å"Communistâ⬠and many stayed loyal even after Stalin was revealed as a tyrant.
